TORANAGAL (BELLARY DISTRICT): Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has stated that no one can prevent him from taking decisions and exercising his powers in the best interests of the people of the State. There was no going back on the imposition of toll on trucks transporting iron ore, he said. Responding to questions from presspersons here on Tuesday, Mr. Yeddyurappa said that top priority had been accorded to the overall development of the State, especially the construction of about one lakh houses in model townships. “In another six months, these model townships will be ready with all the infrastructure necessary,” he said. “I don’t need any certificate from anybody. For the first time in the history of the State, I have been assured of financial assistance to the tune of Rs. 1,500 crore from various sectors,” he added.
