Five JD(S) leaders arrested

DAVANGERE: Five Janata Dal (Secular) leaders were arrested by the Railway Police here today for halting a train about a year ago.

The JD(S) leaders were produced before the court and released on bail.

According to JD(S) party sources, the leaders who were arrested are B.M. Sathish, Daskariyappa, Shankunthala Odeyyar, Veerappa and Chandrashekar.

They, along with party workers had stopped a train in Davangere protesting against the short supply of fertilizers. — Staff Correspondent
