A high level conference, chaired by Health Minister P.K. Many of these cases had been transmitted locally.

The conference also decided to depute two or more rapid action teams to each district to take care of preventive measures. In addition, preventive measures being taken by the district surveillance officers would be strengthened. A nodal officer would be posted additionally to each district.
