Rights panel case

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Human Rights Commission has registered a case suo motu on an incident in which an accused in a theft case, Hamza, reportedly tried to commit suicide by banging his head against the wall at the Kannur Central Jail. K.E. Gangadharan, Commission Member, ordered issue of notice to the Kannur Superintendent of Police and the Superintendent of the Kannur Central Jail seeking their explanation within two weeks. – Special Correspondent
