2 children die of dengue

GUNTUR: Two children, including an infant were suspected to have died of dengue at Perecharla village in Medikonduru mandal on Tuesday prompting the district Health Department to start an emergency medical camp. The deaths were reported from 6th Mile Colony, inhabited by stone quarry workers from Kurnool.

The children, identified as S. Samuel (9) and N. Uma Devi (2) were down with high fever for the past one week and were being treated at a private nursing home. T

hey were discharged on Monday only to develop severe complications by night.

District Medical and Health Officer Gopi Nayak said that they were yet to ascertain the cause of the deaths.
