Belgaum: The Marihal Police arrested five youths on the charge of assaulting a person in Kalkhamb village near here on Monday night. According to the police, Channappa Naik of Nesargi, who had come to see his relative in Kalkhamb, saw a group of persons damaging a Kannada name board put up near the village circle. When he questioned the youths about it, he was assaulted, the police said. Later, Mr. Naik lodged a complaint with the police based on which Gajanan Shirke, Shankar Patil, Lala Tikkekar, Sridhar Patil and Bavkana Lohar were arrested. All the five accused were produced before a court on Tuesday.
