MYSORE: The city will host Mysore Travel Mart from January 18 to 20 in order to showcase the tourism potential of the region to stakeholders in the industry. The event, which will be organised by the Mysore Travel Agents Association, will be held from January 18 to 20. In a release, S.P. Shanthinath, chairman of Mysore Travel Mart 2010, said that they were soliciting travel and tour operators, airlines, and representatives of hospitality industries from India and abroad to participate in the mart. The main objective of the event is to promote tourism-related activities to showcase Mysore, in particular, and other tourist destinations of Karnataka. “With due publicity gained by this event, we expect more visitors to Mysore which will result in increase in revenue to the State as well as other developments. The growth of tourism in the city and State will create more employment opportunities,” said Mr. Shanthimath. There will be a presentation on the heritage buildings of Mysore apart from seminars on eco-tourism, medical tourism and yoga tourism. Resource persons and experts from the relevant field will be invited to participate in the mart, said the organisers.
