Don’t bow to pressure, trainees told

NIZAMABAD: Deputy Inspector General of Police (Marine) K. Srinivas Reddy has said that the police play a critical role in the internal security of the country and therefore they get hard and difficult training.

Advising the police constables not to bow to the pressures from corrupt and anti-social elements , he said, instead they must be useful for the betterment of the society. Personnel in the lower cadre of the department act as the foundation , he said while attending as the chief guest at the passing out parade of newly recruited civil constables at the District Training Centre at Jankampet in the district on Tuesday.

Saying that confidence in the police would improve only when they strove for the unity in the society, he expressed concern over the increasing activities of anti-social elements in the country. He called upon the policemen to wage an unrelenting fight against such elements.

Earlier, Mr. Srinivas Reddy received a guard of honour presented by 239 newly recruited stipendiary cadet trainee civil constables from Visakhapatnam district who underwent training at the DTC here for the last nine months. He also gave away mementoes to the best trainees and trainers.

He administered oath to the cadets.

Superintendent of Police M. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the APSP 7th battalion Commandant V. Rudrakumar, DTC Principal Y.A. Srinivas Rao, Officer on Special Duty N. Surya Prakash Rao and Deputy SPs N. Nageswar Rao, G. Satyanarayana and B. Srinivas Reddy were present.

Donation to orphanage

ADILABAD Staff Reporter writes: The tough regimen during the nine months of their stay at the District Training Centre (DTC), Adilabad, has evolved the 201 police constable cadets as physically tough and kind at heart. While the performance of these cadets at the first passing out parade on Tuesday displayed the toughness in physique, their kindness was exhibited when they donated Rs. 20,700 to the orphans of Bala Sadan.

The trainees at the DTC, belonging to Vishakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Nellore, had been introduced to different facets of life during the training period. They visited slums and orphanages as part of the training to improve sensitivity. They pooled in the money and donated to the Bala Sadan authorities through Karimnagar Range DIG N. Chandra Mouly who was the VIP invitee at the passing out parade.

The DIG exhorted the cadets to display toughness in job and be kind with the needy . He inspected the ‘deekshant’ parade and took salute of the marching cadets.

Adilabad Superintendent of Police P. Promod Kumar gave details of the different aspects of training undergone by the cadets. DTC principal T. Sharath Babu, Adilabad DSP A.R. Damodhar, AR DSP Hussain and Chief Drill Instructor Janardhan Reddy also participated. R. Veerababu of Vizianagaram won the best cadet in outdoor training prize, while K. Ramakrishna of Adilabad district won the best cadet in indoor training.
