SALEM: A woman was reportedly murdered by her husband in Ilampillai near here on Monday. The police said Chinnaponnu and her husband Thangavel, residents of Thappakuttai village, entered into a quarrel following a family dispute. In the end, Thangavel allegedly beat his wife to death. He also attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison. Neighbours rescued and admitted him to the Salem Government Medical College Hospital. A case was registered in this connection. Further investigation is on.
