Varanasi: At least two persons, including a woman pilgrim, were killed while two others were injured when the jeep in which they were travelling collided with a roadside tree in Ballia district. Police said several pilgrims were heading towards the Ganga-Tamsa confluence to take a holy dip on the occasion of Kartik Purnima. Driver Shailesh Rai (28) lost control of the vehicle and hit a tractor-trolley and later collided with a roadside tree near Kapuri in the district on Monday. Rai and a woman pilgrim, Kanti Singh (50) of Bhimpur Rudrawari village, died on the spot while two other passengers were seriously injured.
