SALEM: Residents of Karuppur town panchayat observed a fast near here on Tuesday demanding adequate supply of water.

They claimed that the panchayat administration was not able to meet the water demand. A number of parts in the panchayat were being given water supply once in a week, which put the residents to untold hardships. The residents wanted the administration to ensure adequate supply of water to all the parts in the panchayat. They also urged the officials to take steps to create adequate infrastructure facilities.
