Sri Shirdi Sai Vidya Niketan conducts English Week Various competitions conducted as part of the celebrations
language matters: B.V. Pattabhiram, renowned psychologist and expert in communication skills delivering a lecture at the valedictory of ‘English Week’ celebrations in Rajahmundry on Tuesday. Rajahmundry: Speakers at the “English Week” celebrations conducted by Sri Shirdi Sai Vidya Niketan, Kadiyam and Rajahmundry have asked children to learn, speak and write good English. The school on Tuesday conducted valedictory function of the week-long English special programmes in Rajahmundry and Kadiyam. Children from LKG to Class 10 participated in different events and competitions conducted as part of the celebrations . An exhibition by the students attracted a large number of visitors, including parents, public representatives . “The Sun is for daytime, The Moon is for night time, but English is for life time”. Portraits of English poets and writers John Keats, Kushwant Singh, Sarojini Devi, R.K. Narayan and others were displayed at the exhibition. Addressing the large gathering, Kandula Durgesh, MLC stressed the need of English communication skills and appealed to the parents to give emphasis on speaking as well as writing skills of their children. B.V. Pattabhi Ram, Master in Communicative Skills and Psychologist gave tips to students how to increase their memory power and score good marks. He explained steps that should take to achieve success and techniques to be followed in writing examinations. On Tuesday morning, the school Correspondent T. Paleswara Rao, Director T. Sridhar and Principal T. Srividya organised ‘AIM’ (Aspiring Inquisitive Mothers) programme, exclusively for mothers on the Kadiyam campus. Speaking on the occasion, B.V. Pattabhiram said that rediscovering motherhood and teaming up is the main ‘AIM’ of the congregation of mothers. He gave tips on dos and don’ts for mothers and asked both the parents to improve soft skills of their children.
