One of the accused has been arrested and search is on to nab others TAMBARAM: A petty quarrel over Rs.100 led to the murder of a 30-year-old man in Kovilambakkam coming under Pallikaranai police station limits on Sunday evening. While one of his friends has been arrested, a search is on for a few more. According to the police, Pugazhendran was running a digital banner printing firm near his house in Kovilambakkam. Only a week ago, his wife had given birth to their child. On Sunday evening, Pugazhendran left home to a bar attached to a government liquor store in Kovilambakkam on Medavakkam Main Road. A group of friends met near his house and later proceeded to the bar. After being together for over an hour, the group decided to disperse and when it was time to settle the bill, the group had a quarrel. Of the total amount of Rs.450, they managed to collect only Rs.350. It is reported that none among the friends wanted to pay more than their share. During the confusion, Pugazhendran left. One of his friends called Pugazhendran on his cell phone and the latter returned to the bar, when they fought with each other. In the melee, Pugazhendran was stabbed. He died on the spot and his friends fled. One of them, Karthik, was arrested and a search is on for others, the police said.
