Special Correspondent
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The office of the Ombudsman for Local Self-Government Institutions has completely adopted Malayalam as its official language from November 1 and copies of the verdicts will be issued only in the official language.
Ombudsman M.R. Hariharan Nair said in a release here on Tuesday that Kerala was the first State to constitute the system which helped the common man to secure justice for a nominal sum of Rs.10. The application forms are in Malayalam.
Local Self-Government Department offices, which answered public queries, also had adopted Malayalam as the official language. In order to complement the process, copies of the verdict would be issued only in Malayalam, he said.
