Orchid Chemicals reduces losses in Q2

CHENNAI: Pharma major Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals has reported a lower turnover and operating income of Rs. 314.41 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 in comparison to Rs. 348.45 crore in the year-ago period. During the quarter, at the net level, the company registered a loss of Rs 13.20 crore compared to a loss of Rs. 40.66 crore (due to the loss on the exceptional item of Rs 81.58 crore) of the corresponding second quarter of the last fiscal. — Corporate Reporter
