THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KCA ‘B’ was on verge of posting an outright win against KCA ‘C’ in the State under-16 inter-zone cricket tournament at the Medical College ground. Needing 105 runs for a victory, KCA ‘B’ was 40 for two at stumps on the second day. Earlier, KCA ‘C’ fell to the guiles of left-arm spinner Rahul Raghavan (seven for 53) in its second innings to be bundled out for 119 runs. KCA ‘B’ (overnight 79 for four) took a crucial 14 runs first innings lead after being dismissed for 186 runs. At the Agriculture College ground, KCA ‘A’ was in command. After taking a first innings lead of 41, KCA ‘A’ had reduced KCA ‘D’ to 116 for eight at stumps. Rahul strikes it richLeft-arm spinner D. Rahul was again the wrecker-in-chief as he scalped six wickets for 45 runs to put KCA ‘D’ on the backfoot.
