KOCHI: New Generation Banks and Insurance Employees’ Union, AITUC, has slammed the management of a private sector insurance company for sacking workers since June this year. K. Vijayan Pillai, State committee member of AITUC, told a press conference here on Monday that an indefinite hunger strike started by the union demanding the reinstatement of the employees, sacked by the insurance company in June, had completed 75 days. However, the company management had not come forward to talk to the employees, alleged Mr. Pillai. He also said that though the company expressed its willingness to hold talks on the issues involved, it had unilaterally withdrawn from such talks. Protest strikes have been started before the company offices in Thrissur, Aluva and Kottayam.
