Tirupur: Sainik School, Amaravathinagar, in the district, has invited applications for admission into Class VI and Class IX for the 2010-11 academic year. EligibilityColonel J. H. Samuel, principal of the school, said that boys aged between 10 and 11 years as on July 1, 2010, (born between July 2, 1999 and July 1, 2000) would be eligible for admission into Class VI. Likewise, boys aged between 13 and 14 years (born between July 2, 1996, and July 1, 1997) were eligible for admission into Class IX. The prospectus and application forms could be obtained by paying Rs. 385 for general/defence categories and Rs. 285 for scheduled caste and scheduled tribe categories as demand draft in favour of ‘Principal, Sainik School, Amaravathinagar’ along with a self-addressed 25 cm X 20 cm sized envelope to the Principal, Sainik School, Amaravathinagar, Tirupur district- 642102. “The cost of prospectus and application forms set (Rs. 385 or Rs. 285) was inclusive of the registration fee, cost of old question papers and postal charges,” Colonel Samuel said. The application forms were also available on the internet at www.sainikschoolamaravathinagar.edu.in. Cost of applications, as mentioned above, should be deposited along with the filled-in form downloaded from the website. Last dateThe last date for issue of prospectus/ application forms as well as receipt of filled applications was slated for December 10. Selection processThe students would be selected through an All India-level entrance examination which will be held on January 3 next year.
