KALPETTA: Shivangi of Kannur won the mini cadet singles title in the State senior table tennis championships here on Saturday. In the final, Shivangi beat Treesa Mani of Alappuzha 11-6, 11-5, 10-12, 5-11, 11-7. Ernakulam defeated Thrissur 3-1 to lift the team title in the cadet girls’ section. Kannur beat host Wayand 3-0 to finish third. The results Mini Cadet girls (finals): Shivangi (Knr) bt Treesa Mani (Alp) 11-6, 11-5, 10-12, 5-11, 11-7; semifinals: Shivangi bt Sanjana Ramesh (Ekm) 11-2, 11-7, 11-2; Treesa Mani bt Joannah S.John (Alp) 11-3, 11-1, 11-2. Cadet girls team final: Ernkaulam bt Thrissur 3-1 (Sreedevi lost to Diyendu Sasi 14-16, 11-13, 11-8, 11-13; Nandini Menon beat Ajeena Davis 11-1, 11-5, 11-3; Nandini and Sreedevi beat Divyendu and Ajeena Davis 12-10. 11-7, 11-7; Nandini menon beat Divyendu 11-9, 11-1, 11-5).
