BJP MLA released from jail

BERHAMPUR: The BJP MLA of G. Udaygiri in Kandhamal district, Manoj Pradhan, got released from the Phulbani jail on Friday. He could manage to get bail in all the cases related to communal violence in 2008, pending against him.

He had a total of 14 cases against him. He was acquitted in a case of arson on Friday by a fast track court of Phulbani. Earlier he had been acquitted in four other cases. He had managed to get bail in all other cases from courts in Kandhamal barring three cases for which he could get bail directive from the Orissa High Court.
