Sachin, Jaweed score centuries

HYDERABAD: Centuries by Sachin Joshi (114) for Bhavan’s Junior College ‘A’ and Mir Jaweed Ali (100) for St. Mark’s Boys Town HS were the highlights of the Boost Cup under-16 cricket tournament, organised by Hyderabad Cricket Association, here on Wednesday.

The scores:

Boost Cup: Bhavans Jr. College ‘A’ 297 (Bharath Kumar 58, Sachin Joshi 114, Imran three for 66, Tanmay Agarwal four for 61) bt All Saints 166 (Furqan 51, Danish 31, BharAth Kumar three for 18, Daniel three for 15).

St. Andrews HS ‘B’ 72 (Noor three for 17, Darhas Reddy six for 28) lost to Wesely JC 74 for two (Vaibhav 36 not out).

St. Andrews HS ‘A’ 208 (K.S.K. Chaitanya 62, B. Anirudh 31, Ravi Teja 47, M.P. Nagnath five for 45, Mir Jaweed Ali three for 40) lost to St. Mark’s Boys Town HS 210 for seven (Mir Jaweed Ali 100, Salam Bin Shamlan 39).

Mahesh Vidya Bhavan’s School 205 (Vinay Singh 57, Chirag Patel 59, B. Shrikanth 38) lost to Little Flower JC, Red 209 for eight (Himalay Agarwal 49, Bhargav Rayudu 32, Santosh Singh 32, Vamshivardhan 56 not out).

Easy for General Dept.

General Department XI recorded a seven-wicket win over S&T in the inaugural match of the fourth South Central Railway inter-departmental cricket tournament here.

The scores: S&T 144 in 20 overs lost to General Department 145 for three in 19 overs.

Athletics meet

Osmania University will organise an inter-collegiate athletics championship for men and women at RRC grounds on November 5 and 6.

The championship will also serve as selection event to pick the University team for the All India inter-university meet to be held later this year.

Bhashyam PS wins

Bhashyam Public School won the Guntur District Cricket Association inter-schools tournament defeating Loyola Pubic School by six runs in the final.

The scores: Bhashyam PS 182 in 47 overs (Rajasekhar 63, Kaushik six for 31) bt Loyola PS 176 in 46 overs (Ragavendra Sai 63, Mastan four for 33).

Central makes 183

South Zone restricted Central Zone to 183 in 73 overs in the three-day ACA u-16 inter-zonal cricket tournament at Guntur on Wednesday. At stumps, South was 31 for one in nine overs.

The scores: Central 183 in 73 overs (J. Siva Koteswara Rao 59 n.o., Abdul Haq five for 35) vs. South Zone 31 for one in nine overs.

Inter-varsity TT

Vijayawada’s Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences will host the South-West Zone inter-university table tennis tournament from December 18 to 20. The all-India inter-zonal tournament will be held from December 22 to 25.

Softball tournament

Andhra Loyola College will play host to Acharya Nagarjuna University inter-collegiate softball tournament for men from November 5 to 7.
