AOL to offer free training in yoga

Special Correspondent

Special training sessions will be organised for HIV positive and cancer patients.

Thiruvananthapuram: Art of Living (AOL), Thiruvananthapuram, is launching a project to start 50 Sri Sri Yoga Dhyana Kendras across the district to impart free training in yoga, pranayama and meditation.

Sri Sri Yoga director Krishan Verma and senior faculty member Ramachandra told a press conference here on Tuesday that the dhyana kendras would reach out to all sections of society including school children, manual labourers and officials suffering from stress-related problems.

They said special training sessions would be organised for HIV positive and cancer patients. The project also proposes regular yoga training centres in prisons.

Practical tools

Mr. Verma said the package would also offer practical tools to handle stress and deal with everyday problems.

A core group comprising 200 people has been trained for the project. Efforts were on to extend the project all over the State, he added.
