HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Ranji cricketer Ahmed Quadri has signed up with Rajasthan Royals for the third edition of Indian Premier League scheduled for early next year. The 27 -year-old all-rounder, who bowls off-spin and is a brilliant fielder, has completed the formalities by signing the relevant papers with the IPL franchisee. In fact, he was amongst the 45 players called for the first camp in July first week this year. Hyderabad Cricket Association sources said that Quadri had signed a contract for one year and with a provision for extension by another two years. Reportedly Quadri, who is currently working with State Bank of Hyderabad, will be paid $ 30,000 for the first year and the pay would be suitably enhanced for the next two years if Rajasthan Royals decides to extend his contract. It was revealed that Quadri , when asked whether he would join Hyderabad-based Deccan Chargers if he were to be approached, (the Hyderabad Ranji cricketer has scored one century and three fifties in the six Ranji games he played so far), reacted by saying that he would not do so since it was Royals who first offered him the chance to play in the IPL. — Principal Correspondent
