MGU volleyball from today
CHANGANASSERY: The Mahatma Gandhi University inter-collegiate women’s volleyball championship begins at the Assumption College here on Thursday.
Six colleges — defending champion Assumption, last year’s runner-up Alphonsa (Pala), St. Teresa’s (Ernakulam), St. Xavier’s (Aluva), SNM (Maliankara) and newcomer St. Peter’s (Kolencherry) — will figure in the championship.
Four teams will first play in the knock-out round with two progressing to the league phase.
They will join Assumption and Alphonsa in the league with the group topper taking the title. — Principal Correspondent
