Thiruvananthapuram: The aircraft industry in the country is poised to witness vibrant growth in the next decade, Cochin International Airport Limited Managing Director C.G. Krishnadas Nair said here on Monday. He was delivering the 10th Dr. S. Srinivasan memorial lecture organised by the Thiruvananthapuram branch of the Aeronautical Society of India and the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) here. Dr. Nair stressed the need for collaboration between aerospace organisations and the industry to foster growth in the aviation sector. Highlighting the successful Indian Space Research Organisation model of industrial partnership, he called for similar efforts in the aviation sector. VSSC Director K. Radhakrishnan, who presided over the function, called for indigenous development of passenger aircraft with the support of the industry. VSSC Director of Projects S. Ramakrishnan, Deputy Director John P. Zachariah and Aeronautical Society of India honorary secretary G. Ayyappan were among those who addressed the gathering.
