Jamal Mohammed wins

TIRUCHI: Jamal Mohammed College, with an all-win record at the end of the league stage, retained the title at the Bharathidasan University inter-Collegiate volleyball tournament here on Sunday.

St. Joseph’s College finished runner-up with two victories, while Dharmapuram Adhinam Arts College secured the third spot with a solitary triumph.

The results: League: Jamal Mohammed bt St. Joseph’s 25-15, 25-14, 25-13; Dharmapuram Adhinam bt Khadar Mohideen 23-25, 25-19, 25-14, 25-18; St. Joseph’s bt Dharmapuram Adhinam 25-16, 25-17, 24-26, 25-17; Jamal Mohammed bt Khadar Mohideen 25-4, 25-10, 25-7; Jamal Mohammed bt Dharmapuram Adhinam 25-6, 25-15, 25-14; St. Joseph’s bt Khadar Mohideen 25-7, 25-14, 25-11.

Holy Cross advances

Holy Cross College defeated H.H. Rajah’s College 2-0 to book a place in the final of the Bharathidasan University inter-Collegiate hockey tournament for women on Sunday. Anupriya and Pricilla were the scorers.

The results: Quarterfinals: H.H. Rajah’s 3 bt Rabiammal Ahamed Maideen College 0; Shrimati Indira Gandhi College 3 bt AVVM Sri Pushpam College 0.
