Work on construction of a couple of blocks had been completed and the third block, funded by the Reproductive Child Health Project, is being implemented by the Public Works Department. This block, spread over a plinth area of 21,000 sq.ft. — each on the ground floor and first floor — has been designed on the lines of the blocks built earlier. It will be a 30-bedded facility being provided at an estimated cost of Rs. 4.05 crore. There is no exclusive outpatient (OP) facility at the hospital and the block would be utilised for this purpose, with special ramp that will lead to the other two blocks too. The ground floor of the facility will have a general nine-bedded ward, orthopaedics OP, male and female surgical OP, dental OP, paediatrics ward, rooms for immunisation, injection and observation, trauma care unit along with an emergency operation theatre. A police control room will be established on the ground floor. The first floor will have a 12-bedded paediatric ward, an ENT OP, an ophthalmology section, a general and special laboratory, blood bank, psychiatric OP, a dermatology facility, male and female medical OP units, facilities for X-ray, ECHO, ECG, CT scan etc. Work on the third block that started in early 2009 is scheduled for completion by mid-2010, according to PWD sources.
