Guntur
GUNTUR: The Minister for Major Industries Kanna Lakshmi Narayana and Minister for Secondary Education Dokka Manikya Vara Prasada Rao on Saturday distributed 13,000 acres of land to Scheduled Tribes in Guntur. While giving away pattas to identified beneficiaries, Mr. Lakshmi Narayana said that the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Government was taking all possible care to provide right over the land to the Tribals and also help them develop it through Indira Prabha and Indira Kranthi schemes. Tribals might own land, but developing it was a costly affair and the Government was prepared to help them do that, he observed. The Chief Minister was taking a lot of interest in distributing land to the tribals in their own place and it was being appreciated by people in all districts, wherever he personally went and handed over the pattas, said Mr. Lakshmi Narayana. The Chief Minister had distributed land in East Godavari and Mehboobnagar with a big round of applause from the natives. He was going to Visakhapatnam on Sunday to distribute land there and was holding regular reviews on this , said Mr. Prasada Rao.
