Bangladesh in trouble

KINGSTOWN: A new-look West Indies seam attack dismissed the Bangladesh top order on Friday as the visitor slumped to 121 for six at lunch on the second day of the first cricket Test at Arnos Vale.

Tino Best claimed two for 30, Dave Bernard took two for 26 and there was a wicket apiece for Darren Sammy and Kemar Roach.

Bangladesh began day two on 42 for no loss after a rain-curtailed opening day and was soon in trouble.

Best struck first when Tamim Iqbal (14) edged an expansive drive to captain Floyd Reifer at first slip at 45 for one.

Four runs later, his opening partner and fellow left-hander Imrul Kayes fell in unlucky circumstances.

Imrul notched up four boundaries in a knock of 33 from 66 balls before he was ruled leg-before to Sammy as he played no stroke to a ball that struck him high and was heading past off stump.

Junaid Siddique and Raqibul Hasan shared a stand of 30 for the third wicket before four wickets tumbled for 42 runs in the final 45 minutes before lunch. — AP
