China raises concerns with Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan hinted on Thursday that China had taken up with it concerns that militants based in its territory could be involved in the ethnic unrest in its Xinjiang province. “China has briefed us about the recent incidents in Xinjiang, and we have demonstrated our complete understanding,” said Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit. Not directly confirming that China had taken up the specific issue of a link between the rioting in Urumqi and terror outfits in Pakistan, Mr. Basit said “relations between the two countries are simple exemplary” and the issues between the two were always resolved through co-operation.
