Fake currency seized

Tirupur: The police on Wednesday seized counterfeit currency with a face value of Rs. 13,700 at Kullegoundempudur near here and arrested S. Vijayakumar of Dindigul district in this connection.
Arrested
The Mangalam police on Wednesday arrested a person on the charges of possessing illicit arrack at Cheyur near here. Police said about 20 litres of illicit arrack mixed with some toxic preservatives were seized from M. Subramani.
Killed in accident
One person was killed in an accident that took place in the district on Wednesday. Police said S. Karthikeyan (29) was killed after his bike hit a bus from behind at Avinashi near here
