BANGALORE: Two girls — Kavya Bhat from Poorna Prajna School in Yelahanka and Kesha Shah from Jain International School, both in Bangalore, received top honours at this year’s Horlicks Wizkids event held here on Thursday.

The winners would now form the wiz team and represent Bangalore at the national finals in November this year.

The winners at the national event will get an opportunity to represent Asia at an international conference which will happen at the end of the year. The Wizkid round participants were tested thoroughly and put through three rounds. There was a written preliminary, a group discussion and the final round in which each participant showcased individual talents and answered a couple of questions that were thrown at them by the judges.

Prem Koshy, proprietor of the Koshy’s, one of the judges, said: “Children in today’s world have very good communication skills. They should use it to raise a voice against injustice and help support certain causes.”

“Horlicks Wizkids is a platform that enables students to look beyond academics and explore their other talents in a healthy environment of participation and improvement,” said Sandeep Kirpalani, general manager (Marketing), GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Ltd.

The event is being held for the sixth consecutive year. Nearly 6,000 students from 70 schools in Bangalore are participating in it.
