Oath-taking: The students of Ryan International School, Kundalahalli, at the investiture ceremony. BANGALORE: Ryan International School, Kundalahalli, held its investiture ceremony recently. The solemn occasion began with a special prayer. The new student body solemnised its vows and renewed its pledge to the traditions of Ryan and whiffed in a commitment to uphold and herald change. Group Captain S.K. Jain was the chief guest. R.A. Babu Vijay; Deputy Regional General Manager, The Hindu, Bangalore; Pramila Kumar, General Manager, Godrej; and Simon David, Vice-President, Infosys Technologies, were the guests of honour. The chief guest encouraged the students to adopt a vision which is the basis for leadership qualities and utilise this opportunity to better themselves. At Ryan, the student body has been organised into a school parliament which has been modelled on the Constitution. The ruling party is represented by 26 ministers and the opposition by 26 members. They handle 13 ministries among themselves which is thus responsible for all school activities, organisational requirements and discipline. The students e-polled for their new parliament and solemnised it through this ceremony. Investiture ceremonyAuden High School, Banashankari held elections for the student body recently. The campaign went on in full swing with each competitor out-performing the other with their banners and speeches. The new leaders were invested with responsibilities at a ceremony held recently. Major V. Vidya Shankar, Officiating Commanding Officer, Karnataka Batallion NCC, was the chief guest. He pinned badges to the new leaders. He told the students to have the right priorities. Harikumar, director, Auden Institute of Education and Meena Jayachandra, trustee, passed on the light of knowledge to captains Sumukh Sharma, Annapoorna, Darshan and Swathi. Principal Shubha Madan said that elections were conducted to create awareness among students about democracy. Headmaster Sridhar Rao and principal of Auden Public School Shanthala Ravishankar were present. THE HINDU NIE TEAM
