Murkot Ramunny dead

THALASSERY: Former Wing Commander of the IAF and administrator Murkot Ramunny died here on Thursday morning following a brief ailment. He was 95.

The end came at Indiraji Cooperative Hospital here, where he was admitted last week following age-related illness.

The funeral will be on Friday morning, according to his family members.

Born in 1914 in a prominent family here, he completed his schooling at his home town. He studied at Brennen College here before joining Presidency College in Madras.

He was the son of the late Malayalam writer Murkot Kumaran and brother of Murkot Kunhappa, who had served as associate editor of the Malayala Manorama.

A widower, he had been living in his house at Dharmadam after his retirement from the Civil Services. He is survived by four daughters.
