Skywalk to be built in front of BBMP office Officials told to prepare plan for market complex BANGALORE: The Commissioner of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Bharat Lal Meena, along with K.R. Puram MLA Nandish Reddy, on Tuesday visited K.R. Puram, Kaggadasapura, Annasandrapalya, Vibhutipura and surrounding area and inspected various development works. Mr. Meena, on observing the heavy flow of traffic in front of the BBMP ward office at K.R. Puram causing hardships to pedestrians in crossing the road, advised the Engineer and Range Chief Engineer to build a skywalk there and a bus shelter on the main road, near the K.R. Puram Diesel Shed Road. To a suggestion from Mr. Reddy for construction of multi-purpose multi-storeyed complex at the venue where Tuesday market was being held, the Commissioner directed the officials to draw up a plan for overall development of the market. He directed the officials to clear the encroachments on the storm water drain in Vijinapura to facilitate smooth flow of storm water. Mr. Reddy said the work on construction of an alternative road near K.R. Puram Hanging Bridge had come to a standstill and requested the Commissioner to build a bridge at this place. The Commissioner said a plan had been sent to the railways for clearance and work would start soon. As the traffic bottleneck at Kaggadasapura level crossing caused traffic jam, he directed the authorities to draw up a plan to build a bridge there. The MLA drewn the attention of the Commissioner that the Rajakaluve near Kaggadasapura, Thimmareddy Nagara and Himagiri enclave had been encroached upon and buildings being constructed, the Commissioner directed the Chief Engineer to survey the surrounding areas and clear the encroachments.
