Power theft
Bangalore: A penalty of over Rs. 5.9 lakh has been imposed on two commercial water supply units and a flour mill for power theft. According to a press release, on July 3, the vigilance squad of Chikkodi caught one flour mill at Raibag town for committing power theft by tampering meter security seals, while the squad of Hoskote caught a commercial water supply unit at Dhandupalya village for committing power theft by directly drawing power from the distribution lines. The squad of Ramanagara caught a commercial water supply unit at Kammanahalli village for committing power theft by by-passing meter. — Staff Reporter
