MoU signed

BANGALORE: The Institute of Hotel Management, Bangalore, on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) to promote and market its Executive Development Council (EDC).

As per the agreement, the KSTDC will market the EDC through all its promotional literature, road shows, fairs for one year. The MoU is aimed at improving occupancy, through which the students will get better training opportunity with real time guests. The EDC offers higher education programmes and special refresher courses in hospitality and tourism.

Speaking on the occasion, Vinay Luthra, Managing Director, KSTDC, said the hospitality sector has been growing at a rapid rate and the MoU is a welcome step. Referring to KSTDC’s future plan, he said the corporation was planning to tie up with two and three-star hotels not limiting only just to budget hotels.
