Undertrial prisoner escapes

HYDERABAD: An undertrial prisoner of Chanchalguda jail, Habeeb, escaped from the police escort constables when he was brought to Complex of Criminal Courts at Nampally on Tuesday.
Along with four other prisoners, he was brought to the complex in the morning to appear before the Eighth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court.
“His handcuffs were removed at that time since he was about to be produced in the court. Taking advantage of it, he mixed with the crowd and escaped,” the Nampally Inspector, V. Umender, said.
