HYDERABAD: Salarjung Museum threw open a special exhibition ‘Moulood-e-Kaaba’ on the occasion of the 1,453 birth anniversary of Hazarat Ali, paternal cousin and son-in-law of Prophet Muhammed.

Rare collection

The special exhibition consists of 53 rare manuscripts, artefacts and calligraphic panels in Arabic, Persian and Urdu languages, said A. Nagender Reddy, director of the museum. “Some of them are put on display for the first time,” he said. Photographs of famous religious structures are also on display.

Some of the Arabic, Persian and Urdu texts were also translated for the convenience of the general public, Dr. Reddy added.

Earlier editor of Siasat Urdu daily Zahid Ali Khan inaugurated the exhibition.

The exhibition is being organised at Abbas Yar Jung Hall located in Western block of the museum. It will remain open till July 18.
