Dam shutters to be opened

KATTAPPANA: The shutters of the Mattupetty, Kundala, Anayirankal, Lower Periyar and Ponmudi dams may be opened in view of the rising waters. People residing on the banks of the rivers on the down stream portions should take precautionary measures, said a KSEB official at Cheruthoni. Meanwhile, the shutters of the Kallarkutty dam was opened at 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning and closed at 9 a.m., the official said
