No tiger at Puppalguda

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Police and Forest department officials searched the Puppalguda and surrounding areas extensively on Monday and Tuesday after some locals said that they saw a tiger moving in the locality.

The Forest Department officials, however, confirmed that the wild cat the locals saw could be a hyena but not a tiger going by the pug marks seen in the area. “We noticed nearly six marks on the soil. Three of them belonged to dogs. And the other three could possibly be that of a hyena,” the Forest Range Officer, Anti-Poaching Squad, M. Raja Ramana Reddy, said.
