BJP flays TDP president

BJP’s ‘Chalo Raj Bhavan’ rally on July 11

Bandaru Dattatreya for white paper on open-cast mining

HYDERABAD: State BJP President Bandaru Dattatreya has criticised Telugu Desam leader N. Chandrababu Naidu for his comments against Lok Satta and said he was speaking ‘out of frustration’.

At a press conference here on Tuesday, he said it was improper on Mr. Naidu’s part to make such remarks. “He should prove his claim if he has evidence,” he said.

Being the Leader of the Opposition, he should be in the forefront of the fight against the Congress, Mr. Dattatreya stated.

Executive meet

Mr. Dattatreya said the party’s two-day State Executive, which concluded on July 5, analysed the election results and decided to strengthen the grass-root leadership.

It resolved to organise agitations on public issues and hold a ‘chalo Raj Bhavan’ rally on July 11 to protest the hike in prices of petrol, diesel and essential commodities.

The executive constituted committees to organise agitations on the Babli project and open-cast mining in Singareni Collieries.

Another panel would study the proposed cooperative farming, he said. Stating that open-cast mining was disastrous environmentally, he demanded a white paper on the issue.
