The colours are back again

Staff Reporter

VISAKHAPATNAM: After an agonising long wait, colourful umbrellas and fancy raincoats are finally out of the closet. With the weather being as unpredictable as it is these days, pouring heavily one minute and doing the disappearing act in the next, it makes more sense to carry a raincoat in your bike, or a more trendy and handy pocket umbrella.

The Old Jail Road on a rainy morning is a sea of colour with purples, reds, oranges, blues, pinks, greens and all the shades in between. Apart from the regular monotone shades of raincoats, there are some for children in fluorescent colours. The pavement umbrella vendors have spread out enticing varieties at quite reasonable prices. They range from Rs.60 to Rs.150 depending on the size and type.
