Survey on impact of drive against foeticide
Special Correspondent
JAIPUR: A comprehensive survey through a professional agency will be taken up shortly in Rajasthan to find out the impact of the series of publicity campaigns launched for prevention of female foeticide during the past couple of years. A number of seminars, workshops and road shows on the issue were organised during this period.
Announcing the decision at a high-level meeting here on Monday, Medical and Health Minister Aimaduddin Ahmed Khan expressed concern over the declining sex ratio in the State and issued instructions for stringent action against the doctors and hospitals engaged in identification of the sex of foetuses.
Mr. Khan said all steps would be taken for effective implementation of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Regulation and Prevention of Misuse) Act, 1994.
