Nishank keeps Finance, Power

DEHRA DUN: Ministers of the Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank Cabinet in Uttarakhand assumed office on Monday with most of them asserting that they would try to fulfil the aspirations of the people. They were allotted the portfolios late on Sunday.Mr. Nishank has kept 21 departments to himself including Power, Finance, Health and PWD.

Matwar Singh Kandari has got Irrigation, Flood Control and Khadi and Village Industries. Trivendra Singh Rawat retains Agriculture. Bishen Singh Chufal gets Forests and Environment and Transport. Prakash Pant gets Parliamentary Affairs, Planning, Drinking Water and Legal Affairs.

Diwaker Bhatt, the lone representative of the ruling BJP’s coalition partner Uttarakhand Kranti Dal, retains Food and Civil Supplies and Revenue.

Madan Kaushik has been given Tourism, Excise, Urban Development and Sugarcane Development. Rajendra Bhandari gets Panchayati Raj, Census and Home Guards.

Minister of State Vijaya Barthwal gets independent charge of Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare while Govind Singh Bisht gets independent charge of School and Adult Education.

Minister of State Khajan Das has got Disaster Management and Social Welfare while Balwant Singh gets Health and IT.
