Association pleads for pay parity
Staff Reporter
PUDUKOTTAI: The Tamil Nadu High and Higher Secondary School Headmasters’ Association has urged the State government to fix their pay scales on parity with the central scales.
A resolution to this effect, adopted at its state executive meeting held here on Sunday, said that although the State government had assured the headmasters of rectifying the anomaly in the pay fixation a few years ago, the promise was yet to be kept.
Another resolution wanted status quo to be maintained for the SSLC public examination, without making it an optional one.
The rural students would be hard hit, if the SSLC public examination was dispensed with.
Resolutions
Resolutions pleading for creation of offices of the posts of District Educational Officers to commensurate with the number of schools; filling up of the existing vacant posts of District Educational Officers by promoting the headmasters; appointment of Office Assistants and clerks for improving efficiency in school administration were also adopted.
The state president of the Association C. Selvam, presided over the meeting.
The state general secretary Samy. Sathiyamoorthy was among those who spoke.
