Employment exchanges to go online

J. Balaji

NEW DELHI: The Centre will launch a new project for modernisation of the employment exchanges in public-private partnership. The aim is to help a job seeker register on-line from anywhere and approach any employment exchange.

Announcing this in the budget 2009-10, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said under the project, a national web portal with common software would be developed.

This would contain all the data regarding availability of skilled persons and requirements of skilled persons by the industry. “It will help youth get placed and enable industry to procure required skills on real time basis,” he said.
