Bangalore: Two persons were crushed to death under steel beams when the trailer of a tractor, on which they were travelling, overturned near Chandragiri Doddi near Kengal on Bangalore-Mysore Road on Sunday. According to the Channapatna Rural police, Ganesh (22) and Ramarao (26), both natives of Andhra Pradesh, were hired by a contractor to clear the material from the site of the recently constructed Railway Bridge near Kengal. They loaded the tractor trailer with steel beams, rails and seated themselves on them. The accident occurred when the driver applied the brakes near a speed-breaker. The driver fled the scene. The police used earthmovers to recover the bodies. Suffers burnsAn employee of a hotel suffered burns and material gutted after a fire broke out at Vinayaka Fast Food here on Sunday. The fire broke out due to short circuit. B.N. Shekar (38), who was injured, is in Victoria Hospital. Fire tenders doused the fire, the police said.
