Cash seized

MADURAI: In a raid conducted at the Office of the Superintendent of Police Civil Supplies-CID here and at a Dindigul residence in Teachers Colony of one of the Head Constables attached to it, sleuths of Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) on Friday seized unaccounted cash of Rs. 77,820 and Rs. 3, 87,000. On a complaint that the bribe money collected by CID officials of 10 units operating in 13 districts were being collected during the monthly review meeting conducted by Superintendent of police, Civil Supplies CID, Madurai Zone, the officials conducted the raid. Talking to reporters, Deputy Superintendent of Police Kulothunga Pandian said during the raid at the office, head constable Michael David was found in possession of “unaccounted money .”
