Krishna, Shalini win

Hyderabad’s N. Krishna Teja and East Godavari’s R. Shalini (4.5) emerged victorious in the boys and girls segments respectively of the AP State u-11 chess tournament that concluded at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan hall at Tadepalligudem, according to information reaching here on Sunday.

Krishna had 5.5 points out of six rounds while Shalini won 4.5 points out of five.

Hyderabad’s Pratyush Srivastav and Raghav Srivastav finished second and third with five points each. East Godavari’s S. Priyanka and Hyderabad’s S. Kavya took the second and third places in the girls’ section with four points apiece.

Yeshwant Sai triumphs

Koneru Yeshwant Sai of V.P. Siddhartha Public School emerged winner in the Global Chess Academy’s Sunday rapid chess tournament with 3.5 points out of four rounds here on Sunday.

K. Ranjith of Narayana Techno School and D.V.D. Prasad of State Bank of India bagged finished second and third with 3.5 points on progressive scoring.
